Team platform tennis on doubles lines: APTA-style scoring, PTI line-order rules, and standings that update when captains confirm scores.

What is the best app to run a platform tennis league?

For a club or area league that plays team matches on doubles lines, Beleeg is a strong fit: it comes set up with APTA-style scoring (best of 3 sets, tiebreak at 6-all), lineup rules that keep pairs in PTI order, and standings by lines won. It is free for organizers; when a player pays online, Beleeg keeps a flat $3.

The one thing to know first: Beleeg does not connect to the APTA, so PTI numbers are typed in or loaded from a spreadsheet by you.

Scoring

How platform tennis scoring works in Beleeg

A match is a set of doubles lines, 3 by default and anywhere from 1 to 5. Each line plays best of 3 sets, 6 games a set, win by 2, with a tiebreak at 6-all played to 7 points, win by 2.

Leagues that play it differently can switch to no-ad games, a 10-point tiebreak in place of the third set, or a pro set to 8.

Captains enter each line set by set from their phones. Beleeg checks that the score is a real platform tennis score before it saves, and the other captain confirms it or disputes it.

Lineups

Lineups and rosters

Captains set a pair on each line before the match. You can make lineups follow PTI: the pair with the best combined PTI plays line 1, the next line 2, and so on. Set it to flag a lineup that is out of order, or to block it until the captain fixes it, with an allowed difference so close pairs can swap. Divisions can use a looser difference than Division 1.

You can also limit how far a player moves between lines from one match to the next, and require a minimum number of women in co-ed lineups.

PTI numbers live on each player’s profile. You type them in or load them from a spreadsheet.

Standings

Standings and tiebreaks

You pick how a match turns into standings points when you set up the league: a point for every line won, a point for winning the match, or a point per line plus a bonus for winning the match.

When two teams have the same points, Beleeg looks at head-to-head first, then lines won minus lines lost, then sets, then games, then win percentage. Set and game difference only count once every team has set-by-set scores for every match, so nobody is ranked on numbers that were never entered. You can put these in a different order in your settings.

A season, start to finish

Example: a winter club league

  1. 8 teams in two divisions, 3 lines a match, Tuesday nights from November to March.
  2. Beleeg builds a round robin from how many matches each team plays. Skip the holiday weeks and the season moves back instead of losing a match.
  3. Weather warnings show on upcoming matches at US venues, with one tap to move a match a week.
  4. At the halfway point you can start the second half. At the end, the top 4 teams play a single-elimination playoff seeded from the standings.

What every league gets

  • A schedule built from how many games each team plays and which nights you play. Block out a date and the season moves back instead of losing a game.
  • Captains enter scores from their phones, and the other captain confirms or disputes.
  • Divisions, and a single-elimination playoff seeded from the standings.
  • Players join with a code or register and pay online. Free for organizers; Beleeg keeps a flat $3 when a player pays online.
  • A public page with your schedule and standings.
  • Already running a league somewhere else? Send us what you have and we move it over for you.

What Beleeg does not do for platform tennis

  • Beleeg does not connect to the APTA or pull official PTI. You keep PTI up to date yourself.
  • Scores are entered by line and set, not point by point.

Platform Tennis questions

Can Beleeg keep platform tennis lineups in PTI order?

Yes. Turn on "Play lines in rating order" and Beleeg compares each line’s combined pair PTI. You choose whether an out-of-order lineup gets a note or cannot be turned in, and how big a difference is allowed. Divisions can each use their own allowed difference.

How are platform tennis standings worked out?

Each match turns into points the way you choose: a point per line won, a point for the match, or both. Ties are broken by head-to-head, then lines, then sets, then games, and you can change that order.
