Volleyball leagues

Run your volleyball league.

Rec volleyball: sets to 25 with the deciding set to 15, a point in the standings for every set won, and an optional co-ed rule.

What is the best app to run a volleyball league?

For an adult rec or co-ed volleyball league, Beleeg is a good fit: sets to 25 with the deciding set to 15 are set up, standings give a point for every set won, and a co-ed rule can flag short lineups. It is free for organizers; Beleeg keeps a flat $3 when a player pays online.

It does not book gym time or track player stats.

Scoring

How volleyball scoring works in Beleeg

Matches are best of 5 sets. Sets 1 to 4 go to 25 and the fifth to 15, all win by 2. Many rec leagues switch to best of 3, which is one setting.

Captains enter the score of each set. Beleeg checks each one is a real volleyball score before it saves.

Lineups

Lineups and rosters

Teams play 6 at a time with a bench. For co-ed leagues you can set a minimum number of women on the court, and choose whether a short lineup gets a note or cannot be turned in.

Standings

Standings and tiebreaks

Teams get standings points for winning the match and 1 point for every set they win, so a 2–3 loss still counts for something. Set points only count when the set scores were entered.

When two teams have the same points, Beleeg looks at head-to-head first, then matches won minus matches lost, then sets, then points, then win percentage. Set and game difference only count once every team has set-by-set scores for every match, so nobody is ranked on numbers that were never entered. You can put these in a different order in your settings.

A season, start to finish

Example: a co-ed Monday league

  1. 10 teams, one division, Monday nights for 8 weeks.
  2. Captains pay one fee for the team, or each player pays separately.
  3. Co-ed rule: at least 2 women on the court, flagged if short.
  4. The top 8 play a single-elimination playoff in week 9.

What every league gets

  • A schedule built from how many games each team plays and which nights you play. Block out a date and the season moves back instead of losing a game.
  • Captains enter scores from their phones, and the other captain confirms or disputes.
  • Divisions, and a single-elimination playoff seeded from the standings.
  • Players join with a code or register and pay online. Free for organizers; Beleeg keeps a flat $3 when a player pays online.
  • A public page with your schedule and standings.
  • Already running a league somewhere else? Send us what you have and we move it over for you.

What Beleeg does not do for volleyball

  • Beleeg does not track rotations, liberos, or player stats. Scores are entered set by set.
